 Purchasing a new one after accident July 26, 2010

After a bumper to bumper collision with my son forward facing we are replacing his carseat. Everyone in the car has some sort of pain whiplash etc except for my son who slept through the accident! So comfy and safe that my son did not even wake up. Recommend this car seat to everyone! If you love your child nd cherish their safety you will buy a Britax. You cannot put a price on safety! Thank you Britax for keeping my little boy safe and sound. I just wish the rest of the passengers in the car were just as safe and comfortable in an accident. And for the people who think that Britax car seats are too expensive do the math. Britax car seats have a 6 year lifespan thats seventy two months if you spend three hundred dollars on the car seat that ends up being four dollars and sixteen cents! Now does that sound too expensive for a safe comfortable ride for your little one?
 Safety Issue after 2 years July 25, 2010

We've had the Britax Boulevard for 2 and a half years now and for the most part we've been happy with it. Recently though, the buckle does not securely buckle any longer which is an obvious problem. We are looking into purchasing another car seat and because of this safety issue we will be switching to the Graco Nautilus.
 Save your money and buy the Roundabout instead July 21, 2010

This car seat is overarchitected and incredibly complex to use as compared to the cheaper Britax Roundabout.
1) The side wings on baby's torso always get caught up in the belt, so I don't trust anyone else to buckle him in,
2) The top wings and side wings make it impossible to put him in rear-facing in my sedan - I can barely squeeze him in between the door and the seat,
3) All of the coverings on the shoulder harness (rubber coverings, cloth coverings) jam up against my little guy's face,
4) Britax is currently replacing my shoulder clasps but they melted in the heat because they stopped clasping together and/or got stuck together (which my husband's Roundabout has never done),
5) Even the little things like two latch attachments (instead of one like the Roundabout) and the adjustable head rest make it much more difficult to use,
6) It is so heavy as to be completely awkward to switch between cars so instead we just bought another seat.
It certainly may be great in an accident but it is too bulky and awkward to be usable. I wish I could get my money back and by the Roundabout instead.

I bought this car seat from Amazon at an awesome price and they shipped so fast I didn't expect it to come 2 days earlier than the estimated delivery date. My little guy outgrew his Graco snug ride at just before 6 months. He is a big boy at 20 lbs and has chubby little thighs. I previously bought the Roundabout model because I looked up the specs and saw that the buckle strap depth is deeper at over 6 inches compared to the boulevard at 5.25 inches. Some of the reviews I read described this being a problem for little boys or for bigger babies. With the roundabout my sons thighs seemed like they were being squeezed to an uncomfortable fit with the straps. My sister had purchased a Boulevard Click and Safe for her son a while back and so I fitted my baby to their seat and saw that even when I tightened the harness snug, my baby's thighs didn't look uncomfortably tight. (The click and safe upgrade isn't necessary; it seems to click every time the harness is pulled even though there is obvious slack left between baby and harness. Britax says it clicks when the child seat harness is within range of proper snugness, but that you should use your own judgement.)
I'm 5'4 and I own a 2006 VW Jetta. I was worried it wouldn't fit right rear-facing in the middle of the back seat. It fits just fine but the car seat base covers the other seat belt buckles so no one else can really sit in the back.
He is a lot happier in this seat. He used to get fussy in the other seat but now he seems so relaxed.

Seat works great. Especially like the "quick release" LATCH connectors. Our last seat just had the clips and it would take 10-15 minutes per clip to get them disconnected when we needed to move the seat. These its just the push of a button just like a seat belt to get the connector loose (they are always out of reach of the child as well). The shoulder height adjustment is good too. You just twist a knob to slide the shoulder straps and side impact protection up and down to fit your kid. The latch to loosen the straps is much better than our last seat as well. Although, I saw a better designed one when we were looking that had a side mounted knob to loosen or tighten the straps. The design on this seat is more of the conventional type with a pull strap in between the kids legs and a loosening latch just below the seat covers, but its operation is far better than average for the seats we tried out. The only things that are kind of a bother are the weight of the seat and the lack of a good level indicator. It's by far not the heaviest seat we saw, but it is still a bit heavy to move from vehicle to vehicle. Also, the seat's only leveling indicator is a line on the side of the seat you are somehow supposed to step back and make sure it is parallel to the ground. Our last seat had an actual level riveted to the side of the seat frame that was much easier and "dummy proof" on leveling the seat. For something that all the manuals and experts stress as so important, you'd think they could put a better device on it.
