Great Buy August 31, 2010 J. Randall (California) Our kids seem to be very comfortable riding in these seats. Being that Consumer Reports rates them highest in safety the comfort was a great bonus. They weren't difficult to install and seem to be made of great quality materials and construction. The only set-back for us is that our kids' heads flop forward when they sleep in them, (which is what I hear of all non-infant seats). It would be nice to be able to recline them just another inch but I guess that wouldn't be safe in a collision.
excellent toddler seat August 25, 2010 Frances Albert (Chicago, IL) I have Britax Boulevard seats for both my 3-year old and 7-month old. They aren't cheap in price but the convertibility of them from rear facing to forward facing, removable extra pads, etc. means we can use the same seat for each child from infant to booster. The latch system is easy to attach, the pads machine washable, the cushioning is soft for the girls without being too hot in the summer. This is a great chair.
Great car seat, but here are some critiques August 17, 2010 Allison Ferero (Tampa, FL) I bought this car seat to use for my 5 month old, rear-facing. Just got the car seat last week, so I can't speak for durability, but so far it seems really nice. The fabric is soft enough to be comfortable, but seems like it will be easy to clean too. It really is easy to loosen/tighten the straps once I have him in there.
Some important info. If you are looking at this one because it offerd the floor tether for rear-facing, check your car to see if there is even a place to tether it. I didn't know about the floor tether, and while it is optional, I wanted to do it. (there is a seat belt-like strap on the top back, that when front-facing, it clips to the anchor on the back dash, but when rear facing, you pull it out further and it tethers to the floor at the base of the front seat, keeping it from jerking forward or backward.
I drive an '08 Altima, and there is nothing to tether it to on the floor. You need a bolt or hook or something. Britax even provides a little extra peice you can loop under something and hook the tether to that, but there is nothing in my car. It still meets the safety regs, and feels really sturdy, but if youare banking on that, check your car first.
Also, in the Altima, it only really fits well in the middle seat - it fits right between the front seats nicely, so they can be reclined to a comfortable degree. The only disadvantage is that now you have to sit down in the back seat to get him in there, and kind of hold him awkwardly to get him in the seat. Makes it really challenging when trying to get them out of there asleep. This is going to be an issue with any seat like this though. I am sure I will figure it out.
Material was terrible! August 5, 2010 happybaby03 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have always bought Evenflo carseats for my kids. Each time I kept saying I'll try another because of the knob on the Evenflo's gets stuck sometimes. So I decided to spend the money and buy a Britax since my friends have loved theirs. When it was delievered I opened it up right outside and was ready to install it. When I touched the seat (material)it felt like plastic (seemed easy to clean though) so I left it in the car without installing it and closed the door for a few hours. When I came back the seat was so hot that there was no way I'd put my baby into it. I know seats get hot but this material made it much worse! Needless to say I returned it. Although I have to say if it wasnt for the material I would've liked it!
Good Carseat August 2, 2010 Crunchy Mom We purchased this seat for our daughter when she was six months old. We took it to a fire station check point and they said she was too small to fit in it correctly. She was thirteen pounds and about 23in long. So even though she was within the parameters we were advized to keep her in the infant seat for a while longer. We started using it rear facing when she was about eight months old. And now at 2 and 1/2 we are still using the seat.
What I love:
I love the adjustable strap hieght with out having to remove the straps
I love the extended rear facing weight limit
I love the color options for the seat covers
I love the side impact protection
What I don't like:
I do not like that the whole seat has to come out of the car in oder to clean the cover
I don't like the width of the seat (there is no way to fit 2 more car seats next to this one or 2 people either)
Over all I really like this seat it is well made and seems to be comfortable for my daughter to ride in.
However, if I was to purchase again I think I would purchase Sunshine Kids seat that is comprable.
